I remember the happy faces of my students after this lesson – they actually felt they did something useful that day, and they did it all in English! With enough time and support, an intermediate group can handle this lesson quite well – although it actually works best from upper-intermediates upwards.

A possible extension to this is a brilliant charity website: freerice.com – it lets students learn English whilst helping a charity at the same time. A good filler after an exciting lesson like that.
